(received from Luca and published "as is", translation by Deepl)

As a nurse working in a psychiatric inpatient service, I was surprised at how little the Open Dialogue approach is known, not only among nurses but also among physicians and residents.

I tried to observe the resistance I was encountering by talking about it r to understand the mindset from which they were emerging.
I learned about the changing landscape within which psychiatry as a medical discipline has developed.
I do not appreciate the term strategies because it indicates and evokes an almost belligerent attitude in an adversarial context. Instead, I have tried to identify directions in which to move that would allow me to share an approach that is at least interesting to me without aggravating a perceived divide.

In this brief text I would like to share the solutions I have found and am exploring.

The first solution was to organize a library of nursing texts for the pediatric patient with psychiatric disorders. This library has been enriched with a section dedicated to scientific articles, philosophy, and a video library.
I purchase one volume per month and update the library catalog by sharing it with the nursing team consisting of psychiatrists psychologists nurses and OSS. I am gradually informing the residents and, to those who show interest, I send the monthly update.

Possible developments I see in this initiative include:
1. Asking colleagues who borrow books to share the points they think are salient with the team in a webinar, emphasizing that we learn by teaching.
2. Commenting on scholarly articles;
3. A short film forum in which to include videos on Open Dialogue and Soteria. At the end of the viewing solicit comments and contributions. Conclude the meeting by referring to a further opportunity for further discussion, with the possibility of benefiting (via video call) from an expert's opinion.

Each initiative would be concluded by soliciting feedback highlighting limitations to be corrected and opportunities to be seized.

As part of a broader pattern of action I would include:
1. arranging meetings, carried out exclusively free of charge, at medical and nursing degree program sites.
2. contacting master's degree program sites in psychiatric nursing to understand what position they take toward humanistic approaches to the treatment of psychiatric disorders;
3. with the same intent contact the Italian Society of Mental Health Nursing Sciences.
4. Brochures and leaflets to be distributed in doctors' offices, mental health centers, communities, parents' associations...

I will propose a further contribution in three months to update you on the development of this initiative.

My commitment to you will help me to be constant and consistent in this project.

I cordially invite you to consider and share further dissemination strategies.

So see you again on July 6

Luca

Nice initiative
The idea of giving your colleagues something you have chosen and that you think has value every month seems generous and nice to me.
Of course it would be nice to know more. For example, the texts you propose, how you choose them, the comments of your colleagues, your reflections ..
I think that your dissemination opens a space at least potentially for dialogue.
Thanks for what you do and please keep us updated!
